A Biblical Fact That I am A Lost Sinner
The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23): in Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” in Ecclesiastes 7:20, “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not,” in 1 Kings 8:46, and 2 Chronicles 6:36, “…(for there is no man which sinneth not)….” In Psalms 14:3, 53:3, “They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
God Demands A Payment For My Sins
The Bible says, “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4, 20): in Romans 5:12 says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (that story is recorded in Genesis chapter 3); in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin death;….” The Lord Jesus said in John 8:24, “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
Christ Died For My Sins
The Bible says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5-6). In 1 Peter 2:24, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” 1 Corinthians 15:3 says in part, “…how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;….”
Christ Was Buried
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4a, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried,….” All of the Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the first four books of the New Testament, record the fact that Christ was buried in a borrowed tomb or sepulchre when taken down from the cross where He died for our sins. Christ said in Matthew 12:40 that the length of His burial would be three days and nights, “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” The Bible mentions, “…the third day….” in 1 Corinthians 15:4. That is seventy-two hours that Christ was in the grave.
Christ Arose Bodily From The Grave
Again, in 1 Corinthians 15:4 we read, “…and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”. All four Gospel writers, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John state that Christ rose from the dead. The Bible says in Acts 2:24, “Whom (Christ) God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.” Later in that same chapter, in verse 32 says, “This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.”
What I Must Do In Response
In light of the above facts, the Bible tells me what I must do in response to what and why Christ died, was buried, and rose again. The Bible says, “…The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” The Gospel which is God’s good news, of “…how that Christ died” (and how did He die? On the cross, yes! Furthermore “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened [made alive] by the Spirit:” 1 Peter 3:18). So, Christ, the Just One died for the unjust, which is me. The Bible says to “…Repent,…” in Luke 13:3, 5, Acts 2:38. In Acts 17:30-31, “And the times of ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” I must repent, the Bible says, which is to change my mind, towards my sins, God and His way to be saved, that is, through believing on Christ, Who died for my sins, was buried, and rose from the dead the third day. To rest solely, completely, forever resting in Christ as my all sufficient Saviour.
Paul’s experience is recorded in 1 Corinthians 15:3, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received….” Paul received the Gospel, which is exactly what I must do in order to be saved by God’s grace. The Bible says, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” in Romans 6:23. Again, in Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess (agree with, say the same thing) with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Again, it is believing from the heart the Gospel, and by doing so, you are confessing that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God Whom He raised from the dead. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). When the Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” in Romans 10:13 it means what verse 14 says that it means, “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?” The believing precedes, is first, before you ever call upon God. Only a child of God calls, and knows Him as our Father. Also, look at it this way, when I write a check from my bank, I am calling on the bank to purchase certain items from my account. I am calling on the resources of the bank to cover this purchase. The rest of the verse says, “…and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”When I believe the Words of God the King James Bible, what it says, that God gave His Son Christ to die in my place or instead of me, He was buried (proof that He died), and arose from the grave, that He is my Saviour from my sins, that He is the Lord, that He is my only way to and hope of going to heaven, I am saved. That is my confession, it is what I believe, the Bible says so, and it does not lie.
Assurance From Bible
The Bible says, “If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life” (1 John 5:9-13).
